About the event

The Nordic Fund Selection Forum is one of the longest running events dedicated to fund selectors and institutional investors in the Nordic region. The event offers ample opportunities for delegates to meet and exchange ideas with selector peers. The event is also an effective platform to gain insight from leading fund managers across a range of asset classes.

    Niklas Tell
    Founder & Chief Content Officer at Tell Media Group

    Niklas Tell is a founding partner and chief content officer at Tell Media Group, a Swedish based research and publishing company focused on the asset management industry. He is the driving force behind the company’s research, editorial and advisory efforts. Niklas Tell has covered and commented on the Nordic and inter national fund industry since 1998. Prior to establishing Tell Media Group and launching the first local b2b magazine for the Nordic asset management industry in 2006, he helped establish Morningstar in Europe and was its first european director of fund analysis. Niklas Tell has a degree in economics and business administration from the Stockholm School of Economics and is a member of the Swedish Society of Financial Analysts. He is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and he is often invited to address senior management teams on different topics and trends affecting the asset management industry.

    Dr Kate Land
    Lead Data Scientist at Inalytics

    Dr Kate Land is the Lead Data Scientist at Inalytics, a market leader in the behavioural analysis of investment managers and their decisions. She joined Inalytics in 2021, and has over twenty years’ experience in quantitative research and data science, from academia and industry. She has a PhD in Astrophysics from Imperial College, an undergraduate degree from the University of Cambridge, and prior roles include Research Director at Winton Capital and post-doctoral researcher at the University of Oxford. Her investment management experience spans computer-driven quant trading to traditional fundamental investing, with specific research interests in behavioural finance, quantitative risk models, and algorithmic portfolio optimisation. More generally, she is enthusiastic about helping people use data and technology to make better decisions. She is a member of the Royal Statistical Society conference board.

    Managing Member at iM Global Partner

    Andrew Beer has more than 25 years of experience in the hedge fund industry. Over the last decade he has focused on identifying strategies to outperform leading hedge fund portfolios with low fees, daily liquidity and fewer downside risks.

    Andrew is a Managing Member of DBi, a pioneering hedge fund replication firm, and co-manager of the firm's strategies.

    Sorin Pirău
    CFA, Portfolio Manager, Emerging Market Debt Hard Currency at Janus Henderson Investors

    Sorin Pirău is a Portfolio Manager on the Emerging Market Debt Hard Currency (EMD HC) Team at Janus Henderson Investors.

    Sorin received a BSc degree in economic informatics from the Bucharest University of Economic Studies and an MSc in economics from the University of Copenhagen. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, the CESGA certification and the CFA Institute Certificate in ESG Investing. He is a member of the Principles for Responsible Investment’s Sovereign Debt Advisory Committee and has 12 years of financial industry experience.

    Amadeo Alentorn
    Head of Systematic Equities at Jupiter Asset Management

    Amadeo is an Investment Manager and Head of the Systematic Equities team. Before joining Jupiter in July 2020, Amadeo worked at Merian Global Investors and at Old Mutual as a portfolio manager and Head of Research. Amadeo joined the systematic equities team in 2005. Prior to this, he worked for the Financial Stability Group at the Bank of England, developing simulation models for systemic and liquidity risk for the Financial Stability Group. Before this, he was a software developer for CAD systems and robotic applications. He began his investment career in 2004. Amadeo has a BEng in Robotics from the University of Plymouth, an MSc in Computer Science, and a PhD in Computational Finance from the University of Essex. He is a CFA® charterholder.

    Jonas Palmqvist
    Portfolio Manager at Alphinity Investment Management

    Jonas’s focus is on Healthcare, Utilities and Materials sectors as well as portfolio construction oversight.

    Jonas joined Alphinity in 2015. Prior to joining Alphinity, Jonas was a Senior Portfolio Manager / Analyst at AMP Capital in Sydney, Australia, He was responsible for managing the Core Equity portfolios in the Australian Fundamental Equities team from 2011-2015, as well as covering the Australian bank sector as an equity analyst. Prior to that, Jonas worked from 2003-2010 at Swedbank Robur Asset Management in Stockholm, Sweden, managing international as well as domestic equity portfolios, and covering US and European stocks across the consumer and industrials sectors. Previously, Jonas worked at Merrill Lynch in London, UK as an equity analyst covering European media stocks. He started his career with Swedbank Markets in Sweden in 1996 as an equity analyst, covering sectors ranging from banks, industrials, property, and media.

    He holds a Master’s degree in Finance from the University of Gothenburg School of Business, Economics and Law.

    Chloé De Calatchi
    Head of Selection (Manager & Operational Due Diligence) at ABN AMRO Investment Solutions

    Chloé De Calatchi is Head of Selection (Manager & Operational Due Diligence) at ABN AMRO Investment Solutions. She started her career in 2004 as a Legal advisor within ABN AMRO Advisors. She then joined the Bank and Finance department at Clifford Chance. She also worked as Legal Counsel at Lombard Odier Darier Hentsch. In 2006, Chloé joined La Française AM as a due diligence analyst for the alternative funds but was also legal counsel on the Luxembourg range products. In March 2016, Chloé joined ABN AMRO Investment Solutions as a Senior operational due diligence analyst. She holds a Master’s Degree in Financial Law from University Paris XI in Partnership with ESCP-EAP. She also holds a IMDD certificate on Private Equity Operational due diligence (Professional Level) and the CFA ESG.
